Chidambaram, Natesan Rangabashyam and many more, Loyola College was founded in 1925 by the Society of Jesus with the motive of creating committed, creative men and women through university education. The college imparts knowledge to students under a Christian atmosphere irrespective of caste and creed. Campus: The College has a beautiful infrastructure with sophisticated architecture and equipped with modern technology. The college provides its students with all the necessary facilities for their education as well as comfort. The college has a library which houses around 1,10,000 books and 140 journals, an auditorium fully complete with modern equipments where interactive sessions are held regularly and a cafeteria. The classrooms are spacious, advanced modern computer labs, more than comfortable and reasonable hostel rooms, laboratories, sports and medical facility. One more amazing feature is that the college also has a Resource Centre for differently abled and Helen Keller Research Centre.
Courses: Much like any good college, Loyola College too gives its students a variety of options when it comes to courses. The college offers a variety courses like B.Com, BA, B.Sc, MA, M.Sc, MCA, M.Phil and Ph.D. in various fields. These courses are taught by professors who are highly knowledgeable and trained.
The college attracts top recruiters like Deloitte, Stratagem and Franklin which offer high packages to the students. Its Science courses were ranked the 2nd best in the country while its arts and commerce courses were ranked 4th best in the country.
