It is safe to say without asking, that you would not mind having extra income come in. You are wondering how to do it. Some people earn money online by blogging about something they love. Some blog about a topic with the only sole intention to earn more income. Also, people create websites that attract visitors either by giving them valuable information, entertainment, or something else that gets them compelled to visit the site.
You are probably reading this because you are stuck, trying to figure out how you are going to earn an extra income. If you are on a tight budget, or flat broke, the cheapest way you could earn money is to start a hosted blog. An example of a hosted blog is blogger.com or wordpress.com. This blog is hosted on my own domain, and my own website hosting plan. Now that you decide to that you will start a blog to earn money online, you might get stuck, wondering what you’re going to blog about. If you are the type of person who cannot write about something that you have no interest in, even if it means earning more money, then you should write about something you are passionate about. If you are not what I just described, and you can and will write about anything as long as it makes money, then the next tip is for you.
I’m unsure how to find out what the CPC (cost per click) for keywords on adsense, unless you already own a Google Adwords Account. If you do, you can use the keyword tool to see what terms are searched 10,000 times each month. Do not target your blog around keywords that are below that number of search queries. What you are going to do is use your imagination to find a niche to blog about. Then when the idea pops into your head, pop the keyword terms into Google Keyword Tool and find out what keyword variations are at least 10,000. Take each relevant keyword or keyword phrase and search for it on google. You are doing this to see how many Results (competitors) there are. If it is below 2 million, that is good! If the keyword passes the test of 10,000 search queries a month, and less than 2 million competitors, then take it to the next step. Use the Google Adwords Keyword Tool to estimate the CPC of the keywords you discovered. Make sure that you have your the maximum CPC you are willing to pay to like 20 dollars. Keep in mind, you are NOT using Google Adwords to advertise anything, all you are doing is seeing how much keywords cost.
Some keywords can cost very little, like 30 cents, and other keywords can cost 10 dollars, or more! The online diet food delivery sector has a CPC ranging from 5 to 9 dollars. You would like to have a nice blog about that huh? Just get one or two clicks a day and earn extra income from blogging. Only issue with that is that there is a lot of competition. Your goal is to blog about your selected keywords, and slight variations of those keywords. If you are starting out, you will be daunted and fail your blogging venture if you target a sector that has heavy competetion. Good luck earning money if you do that. You are going to be getting traffic to your site from organic traffic, meaning from search engines. The less competition there is for your keywords, the better chance you have to earn an extra income.
Once you find your niche that you decide to blog about, start a Google Adsense account. Create a text only link ad, and then you will receive a code once finished. Post this code into your blog. There are some tutorials about how to add adsense to your blog if you need help with that.
Make sure that when you are writing posts on your blog, focus on the keywords that you did research on. This is extremely important. Not only will the ads that appear on your blog be more focused and relevant to your keywords, but when the search engines crawl your site, they will index your blog in relation to the keywords you used. If you are focusing on “Deep sea fishing trips” then you need to have that term appear about 3 times in your posts.
Good Luck
I’ll post more relating to this topic another day. Stay tuned for more information on earning extra income.
