So you have created the newest, best, most exciting blog on the Internet. You’ve put some PPC ads on the site. You’ve even told your friends to check it out, registered with all the major search engines, and keep adding great content. So you sit back and wait. One visit today, maybe 2. Your earnings are a massive $1.08 a year later. You forgot about your site, go back to your minimum wage job, and give up on living the life of your dreams.
Wait! It doesn’t have to be this way! You can be the best, you can get people to check out your site, you can make money. How do you do it? There are many ways to publicize you’re your website or blog, but let’s talk about one of the quickest ways to increase traffic right now.
Let’s call this technique traffic diverting. You can call it stealing if you want, it makes it sound a little more exciting. The trick here is to find some powerful traffic generating sites, and borrow some of their traffic. I generally start with high ranking blogs. Using Google search, or Technorati.com, or Alexis.com, Locate the top 50 blogs that have information relevant to what is on your website. Find the sites that allow you to post a link back to your site in the comments. Many of them will allow you to have your name become a link back to your site. Others will allow you to post links in the comment box. If there is no place for a link, just put your web address with “http://” in front of it. Most blog platforms will automatically turn this into a link
There is a trick to this. Don’t waste your time spamming your links all over the place. The way to “borrow” readers from these sites is by posting something in the comments that will make people want to read your site. Is there a controversial article that you can post about your alternate views? Can you find an article that you can add some interesting information to, and hint that you have more on your blog about it? Of course, be sure your blog or site actually has some relevant content, so you aren’t wasting your time!
Getting massive website traffic in a relatively short period of time is not hard, you just have to know what to do, and then actually do it. Just keep learning how to get more hits to your website, follow the advice, and you can be the next big time blogger on the net. By the way, when you get there, be sure to give me a link back from your site!
